Well it’s that time of the year again! 2013 kinda rocked so lets pop the champagne and wrap it all up!
I know things have been way silent on the blog front this year as I concentrated more on ya know, life behind-the-screen. I’ve decided that I needed to change things up before I got so bored I wanted to eat my face. With a bit of luck and help, I peeked my tootsies into the door and now I get to do a lot more of what I love the most; working with food and shooting it. It’s baby steps all the way and changing the routine is unnerving but I’ve never felt more invigorated or grounded. Here’s a small peek of what I’ve been up to this year.
Another big change of 2013! After nearly 10 years of umm-ing and aah-ing, we decided it was time to get hitched. There are only three months to go to the day and all I can say is omgholyshitcowkillme. Give me about oh, two weeks before I lose my marbles because I’ve procrastinated for months. In the end though, I can’t wait to party with our closest friends and family, even if I end up in a straitjacket. Note to self, you are sooooo not going to be an event planner. Ever.
But enough about me, lets talk food! Not that there was much to choose from but out of everything I’ve posted in the last 12 months, my favourite recipe has to be…
Chocolate and Passionfruit Profiteroles; the most dreamiest combo with all my favourite things rolled together in one amazing dessert. Seriously, take out your piping bags and get onto it.
But by a mile, the most popular recipe with you folks has to be this Baileys Chocolate Mud Cake. It’s one of the easiest cakes you’ll ever make and I almost didn’t post it because it was so basic. But judging from the many emails and comments, it’s definitely a keeper, especially if you’re not a comfortable baker. Oh and check out this drool-worthy adaptation from Linda Lomelino <faint> (ps – if you haven’t already, you should really go check out her blog Call Me Cupcake. It’s amazing).
And that’s it from me! It’s been a hell of a ride this year and I can’t wait to see what the next one will bring. A thousand thank yous to all you readers, new and old. Your comments, emails and hellos are like a shower of happy rainbow sprinkles, even after five years of blogging.
I hope you all have a fabulous new year too. Now roll on 2014!
