Family, friends, beloved readers and faithful lurkers, I’m totally excited to announce that I am a finalist for the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2011 for Best Photography Blog!
It’s all the more exciting because this year, the awards are held in my hometown of Kuala Lumpur. So brace yourself Malaysia, I’m coming home! The news is still sinking in but I’m eternally grateful and humbled. Thank you thank you for the nomination (if I ever find out who you are, I’m gonna bake you a whole lot of cakes!). And of course, much love to Nuffnang for selecting me as a finalist!
I never imagined just how much I’d fall in love with food photography ever since I bought my first DSLR 2.5 years ago but the learning experience since has been brilliant. Especially to see my photos go from this:

to this.
So now this is the part where I need your support the most! Being a finalist and heading to KL will be rewarding enough but winning would just be the mind-blowing icing on the cake. However I have zero expectations because there is some seriously SCARY competition in my category. I’m talking about some amazing lifestyle, art and travel photographers whereas it’s just little ol’ me and bowls of food. YIKES I don’t stand a chance!
But if you’ve ever enjoyed (and drooled!) at the photos on Citrus and Candy. Or if you really love your food. OR if you’re hungry then please send some votes my way here! Voting ends at 2:49am 28th November 2011 (AEST) and you can vote every two hours.
Finally, super congrats to all my fellow Aussies who were nominated including these two amazing food blogs (Sydney food bloggers represent!). I can’t wait to cheer them all on in Malaysia on December 16th!

I think you stand a great chance of winning – I find food blogs like yours quite inspirational. I’ve gone from not really cooking much or exeprimenting at all to taking a chance on new dishes all because a lovely photo grabs my eye.
